How To Change The Windows Boot Logo

To change the Windows boot logo, you can use the following steps:

  1. Download and install the HackBGRT tool: https://github.com/Metabolix/HackBGRT/releases.
  2. Create a custom boot logo image. The image must be a 256x256 BMP file with a black background. (scroll down  "how to create a custom boot logo image".)
  3. Copy the custom boot logo image to the EFI\HackBGRT folder on your hard drive.
  4. Run the HackBGRT tool.
  5. Click the "Install" button.
  6. Restart your computer.

Your custom boot logo should now be displayed when your computer starts up.

To remove the Windows boot logo, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the System Configuration tool (msconfig.exe).
  2. Click the Boot tab.
  3. Uncheck the box next to "No GUI boot".
  4. Click Apply and then OK.

Your computer will now boot up without the Windows boot logo.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind when changing the Windows boot logo:

  • The custom boot logo image must be a 256x256 BMP file with a black background.
  • The custom boot logo image must be stored in the EFI\HackBGRT folder on your hard drive.
  • You must have administrator privileges to change the Windows boot logo.
  • If you have any problems changing the Windows boot logo, you can restore the original boot logo by following the steps above to uncheck the box next to "No GUI boot".

Here are some more things to keep in mind when changing the Windows boot logo:

  • The custom boot logo image can be any image that you want, but it must be a 256x256 BMP file with a black background. This is because the Windows boot logo is displayed in 256x256 pixels and it has a black background. If you use an image that is a different size or has a different background color, it may not be displayed correctly.
  • You can use any image editing software to create your custom boot logo image. However, I recommend using a software that supports layers, such as Photoshop or GIMP. This will allow you to create a more complex and detailed boot logo image.
  • Once you have created your custom boot logo image, you need to save it as a 256x256 BMP file. You can do this by going to File > Save As and selecting "BMP" from the "Save as type" dropdown menu.
  • After you have saved your custom boot logo image, you need to copy it to the EFI\HackBGRT folder on your hard drive. You can do this by opening File Explorer and navigating to the EFI\HackBGRT folder. Then, right-click on your custom boot logo image and select "Copy". Finally, paste the image into the EFI\HackBGRT folder.
  • Once you have copied your custom boot logo image to the EFI\HackBGRT folder, you can run the HackBGRT tool. HackBGRT is a free tool that allows you to change the Windows boot logo. You can download HackBGRT from the GitHub repository: https://github.com/Metabolix/HackBGRT/releases.
  • To run HackBGRT, simply double-click on the HackBGRT.exe file. HackBGRT will automatically detect your custom boot logo image and it will display it in the window. If you are happy with the way the boot logo looks, you can click the "Install" button to install it.
  • After you have clicked the "Install" button, you need to restart your computer. Your custom boot logo should now be displayed when your computer starts up.

To create a custom boot logo image, you will need to use a graphics editor that can create BMP files. Some popular options include:

  • Microsoft Paint
  • GIMP
  • Adobe Photoshop

Once you have chosen a graphics editor, follow these steps to create your custom boot logo image:

  1. Create a new document that is 256 pixels wide and 256 pixels high.
  2. Set the background color to black.
  3. Use the graphics editor to create your logo image.
  4. Save the image as a BMP file.

The name of the file must be boot-logo.bmp. The file must also be located in the /boot partition of your device.

Here are some additional tips for creating a custom boot logo image:

  • Keep the image simple. The boot logo will be displayed for a short period of time, so it is important to keep the image simple and easy to read.
  • Use a high-contrast color scheme. The boot logo will be displayed on a black background, so it is important to use a high-contrast color scheme to make the logo easy to see.
  • Avoid using text in the logo. Text can be difficult to read on a small screen, so it is best to avoid using text in the boot logo.

Once you have created your custom boot logo image, you can follow the instructions for your device to install it.

I hope this helps!
